Anfield Split - To Buy or Not to Buy?

William Clayton, a committee member, reported on several potential new grounds for Everton in December. One was on Goodison Road. At a Special General Meeting on 25 January 1892, Clayton proposed that the specific proposal put forward by Houlding to form Everton into a limited company to buy Anfield should be rejected. His motion was carried.
