Daniel Kirkwood - Footballer and Director

After almost letting Kirkwood go, on 17 August 1891 the directors agreed to make him Everton captain. A week later they decided to appoint Johnny Holt instead, after refusing to let Holt terminate his contract. In April 1892 Kirkwood was in trouble about his behaviour in the changing room. He appears to have argued with his team mate, Alex Lochhead, and both apologised to the directors.
