EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB,
BYE - LAWS
VIDE RULES V & XV

I - Every player, whether amateur or profess-
ional, shall appear in proper football costume,
both when practising and engaged in a match on
behalf to the Club; and no member will be per-
mitted to practise or play on the ground unless
wearing the authorized football costume of the
Club.

II.- No practise, under any circumstances, will
be permitted on days when matches are played,
either before or after a match.

III.- Vide Rule IX. Any member can practise as
per this rule provided bye-law I. is complied with.

IV.- All reasonable commands of the captain in
the field must be promptly obeyed.

V.- The Captain shall have power to alter the
positions of the team, if during the progress of a
match he thinks it advisable to do so.

VI.- The Team shall be complete before leaving
the dressing room, and must come on the field in a
body, led by the Captain, at least 5 minutes before
the advertised time of kick-off.

VII.- All articles for the use of members, pro-
vided by the Committee, are the property of the 
Club.

VIII.- All boots, jerseys, footballs, towels, and
pants, shall be taken charge of by the Storekeeper,
who shall be responsible for them, and shall report
to the Secretary every Monday as to their state
and also as to any loss or requirements.

IX.- The Captain shall return the ball to the
Storekeeper immediately on conclusion of the
match.

X.- The Match Sub-Committee shall meet at
least half an hour before the commencement of the 
game to decide any point of emergency that may
arise.

The above bye-laws having been passed at a
meeting of Committee, held on Monday, August
13th., 1888, are binding on the members until
further notice.

202 The possibility of playing baseball at the ground was considered. The ground was felt to be unsuitable.
