Dr. Whitford reported that his attention
was drawn on Saturday to a large Swelling
in the small of Clifford's back & he at once
forbade him to strip, that on seeing it
again today he had despatched him to
the Northern Hospital to have the Swelling
opened & drained & that in his opinion
the Swelling would have disappeared by
Saturday.
