[Emergency Meeting of Directors held at the
Bradford Hotel, November 28th 1913.]
Present All the Directors except Mr. Kirkwood.
Fern The Chairman reported that the Secretary had
received a telegram late last night from Lincoln
City F. C. intimating that they were prepared to
accept a sum of £1500 and the players share
of the transfer fee for their goalkeeper Fern and
that they would meet our Secretary at Worksop
Station at 2.30 tomorrow (Friday), and that
Mr. Cuff had departed for Worksop and would
await instructions.
It was resolved that we offer One thousand
pounds inclusive, leaving the Secretary to make
a reasonable margin and instructions were sent to
this effect and that if successful to arrange to play him at West
Bromwich on Saturday.
The Assistant Secretary read a telegram from
the Secretary (despatched from Manchester this
morning) intimating that - the match - Huddersfield Town
v Stockport County would not take place on
Saturday and asking whether he should go
on to Clapton. Instructions were sent that he
proceed to Clapton and report on the play of
McFadden at the next meeting.
Taylor In consequence of this wire Messrs Kelly & Green
were deputed to go to Manchester and see
Taylor the reserve goalkeeper of Oldham Athletic
play and report to the next meeting.
Goodchild The Assistant Secretary reported that Manchester
City had telephoned that they were not prepared
