[Meeting of Directors held at Goodison Park
Monday, May 4th 1914.]
Present All the Directors.
Minutes The minutes of the meeting of April 21st, 26th & 30th
were read and confirmed.
Fox The Secretary reported that he had been in
communication today with Bradford City F.C. and
that the Secretary Mr. O'Rourke promised to lay our
latest offer of £1500 before his Directors who were at
present away on the Continent with the team.
Barnes The Secretary reported the receipt of a letter from
Derby County F.C. and then by direction of the Board
communicated with them per telephone and offered
them £1500 for his transfer - their reply that
our offer would have to be well over £2000, as they
had already received an offer of that figure, was
reported to the Directors who resolved to take no further
action.
Kirsopp The engagement of Kirsopp at £3 per week for the
remaining week of the season and for the ensuing
season at £2 in the summer and £3 in the winter
with a transfer fee to Wallasey Borough of £10 was
confirmed.
Wallasey Boroughs application that the transfer fee
be increased to £20 was declined.
Smith The Chairman, Mr. Coffey and the Secretary were
(Crystal Palace) instructed to negotiate with Crystal Palace for the
transfer of their centre forward Smith, the Secretary
