[Meeting of Directors held at the Bradford Hotel,
September 26th 1916]
Present All the Directors except Mr. Green.
Minutes The Minutes of the last Meeting and of the Finance
Meeting were read and confirmed.
The Secretary reported that the gate receipts on Saturday
last were £627.18.0, and that the amount due to the
Customs and Inland Revenue in respect of Entertainments
Duty thereon was £90.18.6 and on the sale of Season
Tickets from September 9th to September23rd 14/10,
and the amount due to the League being 6% of the net
gate £30.15.9, and the payment of these respective
amounts was passed.
That Robert Parker had joined the Royal Scots Fusiliers.
That Bury F.C. had written for an explanation as to our
playing Sheldon on Saturday last and that he had
replied thereto.
Morris The Secretary read a letter from James Morris stating
that the Stoke Club would permit him to play for us
on condition that he would give them preference
whenever they required his services. It was resolved
that the Secretary wire Morris accepting these conditions
and asking him to assist us at Manchester on Saturday
next in case Stoke did not require his services.
The Chairman read a letter from John Phillips of
St. Helens recommending a half back Hunter. The
Secretary was instructed to request Mr. Phillips to ask
