Johnson (M/c City) Secy. reported that he had been informed
that this player was now likely to be transferred.
It was decided that Secy. proceed to M/c to
enter into negotiations.
Scotland v Ireland Messrs E. Green & A. Coffey reported that they
considered McCambridge (I.L.) & Jones (C.H.) of Ireland
very promising players.
Marshall (Rangers) They also reported that Rangers F.C. were
not prepared to part with this forward.
Dundee v Airdrie Mr. E. Green gave good reports of Thomson (L.H.)
(Dundee) & Macdonald I.L. of Airdrie & a fair report
of Robertson (Dundee). He also reported favorably
of the Dundee backs.
Boyd (N'cle) Secy. reported that he was not too impressed
with this outside right.
Gregg (Sheffield Wed) Mr. W. J. Sawyer gave a very good report
of this player but Secy. stated that he did
not consider he was strong enough for us.
Winsford v Chester Mr. A. McNicoll gave good reports of Sharples
(L.B.) Chester & Hope (O.R.) of Winsford.
N. Nomads v Mr. J. McGill gave a good report of McDavid
Stockton (L.B.), Owen (C.H.), Smithies (C.F.) & Pitt (O.L.) of Nomads
& L.B. Moore, Scaife (C.H.) & Stephenson (O.R.) of Stockton.
O'Dowd (Blackburn) Dr. C. S. Baxter gave a very good report of
this player.
Hulme & Brain Messrs J. Sharp & Secy. reported that the Club
(Arsenal) would not part with the former & the fee required
for the latter was £2750, but they did not
consider him good enough for us.
