T. G. Jones Dr. C. S. Baxter reported a tripartite
55 conversation at Portsmouth when the player had
inferred that he wished to stay with the Club,
if a guarantee could be given for his future
after his playing days were over. The player needed
such a guarantee even if transferred. It was felt
that such guarantee {promise} was beyond our powers.
Sec'y empowered to explain that his
value to the Club was on the playing field at
the present time.
