[Extraordinary, General Meeting
held in Lan. Association Rooms, Cook St, Liverpool,
on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1949, at 7.30 pm.]
Present:- Dr. C. S. Baxter (Chair), all other Directors,
and 152 Shareholders or representatives.
Messrs Bowler, Bryson, Britton &
Secy. in attendance.
Secy. read notice convening the
Meeting.
Press Chairman proposed that the
167 Press be admitted. This was agreed to,
& ten Pressmen took their places.
Requisition Dr. Baxter invited the questions
Business that were to be asked by certain Shareholders
& Mr. E. Pelly spoke of matters which had
been discussed by the Shareholders & how
very much perturbed they were with the League
position.
The Chairman suggested that
Mr. Britton was best fitted to reply, &
after speaking for 40 minutes, & covering
all the points of difficulty, Mr. Britton
received applause.
Questions were then asked by
Mr. Petty to which Mr. Britton replied.
Alderman, Luke, Hogan spoke in
a general way, but after many interruptions
by Mr. McCall & others, the Chairman
requested him to take his seat.
Messrs W. R. Clayton, A. B. Collins, J. Owen,
M. B. Adams, J. Allan, Livesley, Gourley, and
Winfield asked questions which were answered
