Former Everton midfielder and F.A. Cup winner Barry Horne has been annouced as the Everton Collection's Ambassador for Learning.  Barry, who now work's as a chemistry and physics teacher at the King's School in Chester, will help to champion the exciting work that the Trust's learning team does with local schools.

One of the aims of the Trust is to make The Everton Collection accessible to learners and schools. To do this the learning team provide a free programme of activities and learning resources to schools across Liverpool, which use football to inspire children to learn and make links to the National Curriculum.

On his role as Ambassador for Learning Barry Horne said,

"It's truly an honour to become Ambassador for Learning for the Everton Collection, not only do I feel a strong attachment to it through my past footballing career, but also in my current role as a teacher. I am a great believer that learning should be fun and engaging, which is why the work that the Everton Collection has, and continues to do with local schools is a step in the right direction".

So far over 700 local children have benefited from the programme and with the support of Barry Horne the Trust hope that it will reach many more learners in the future.
