The next talk by acclaimed author and football historian, Peter Lupson, will be about William McGregor and the birth of the Football League (see details below).

All talks will be held at 2pm in the Hornby Room in Liverpool Central Library (next to The Everton Collection exhibition). After each talk, Peter Lupson will be selling and signing copies of his books, 'Across the Park' and 'Thank God for Football'.

Everton were founder members of the Football League in 1888 and champions three years later. Liverpool joined the Second Division in 1893 and were First Division champions in 1901. Find out how the Football League was started and meet its father, Scotsman, William McGregor.
