What happened in Everton's history this week:

19 April 1890 -
Everton's first visit to Ibrox results in a 6-2 victory over Glasgow Rangers.

20 April 1963 - Alex Young goal takes Blues closer to title. Everton defeated League title challengers, Tottenham Hotspur, 1-0 to maintain their home record and edge closer to the League championship. Read the match programme here.

21 April 1906 - Everton win the FA Cup for the first time. Everton defeated Newcastle United 1-0 at Crystal Palace to win the Cup Final. Newcastle dominated much of the play, but with 13 minutes left, Sandy Young scored for Everton. See all 1906 FA Cup memorabilia here.

22 April 1899 - Jimmy Settle makes Everton debut in goalless draw against Burnley. Settle went on to make 269 appearances for the club, scoring 97 goals. He also won 6 caps for England. He left Goodison to join Stockport County in 1908, retiring a year later. See all Jimmy Settle memorabilia here.

23 April 1966 - Colin Harvey goal takes Everton to first FA Cup Final for 33 years. Everton defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the Semi-Final, played at Burnden Park. Read the match programme here.

23 April 1977 - Everton and Liverpool draw 2-2 in controversial FA Cup semi-final. Referee, Clive Thomas, disallowed what appeared to be a perfectly legitimate winner for Everton when Bryan Hamilton scored in the last seconds. 24 April 1985 - Everton defeat Bayern Munich in one of the greatest European nights ever witnessed at Goodison. The 2nd leg of the European Cup Winners' Cup Semi-Final was played in front of a 49,476 Goodison crowd. After the goalless 1st leg, the German side went ahead in the first half, scoring an important away goal. Graeme Sharp levelled the score and Andy Gray then gave Everton the lead. Mindful that a Bayern equaliser would send the Germans through on away goals, Everton pushed forward with Gary Stevens scoring the final goal in a thrilling 3-1 win. Read the match programme here.
