What happened in Everton's history this week:

26 April 1915
- Everton's 2-2 draw against Chelsea resulted in the Blues winning the First Division title for the second time as they finished 1 point above Oldham Athletic.  Bobby Parker scored the second goal and with 36 goals became the League's top scorer.  See his League medal here.

27 April 1972 - Brian Labone announced his retirement through injury after having played 534 games for Everton.  He made his debut for the Club at Birmingham City on 29 March 1958.  During his 14 year career he was capped 26 times for England and played in the World Cup in Mexico in 1970.  Search all Brian Labone memorabilia here.

28 April 1910 - Burnley drew with Newcastle United 1-1 at Crystal Palace in the F.A. Cup Final.  Goodison was chosen to host the replay.  A crowd of 69,000 saw Newcastle win 2-0 to take the Cup.  Click here to see an early photograph of Goodison.

29 April 1933 - Everton took on Manchester City in the F.A. Cup Final at Wembley Stadium.  It was the first time that players wore numbers on their shirts, with Everton wearing 1-11 and City 12-22.  Dixie Dean became the first ever player to wear a No. 9 shirt.  Everton triumphed over City 3-0 with goals from Stein, Dean and Dunn.  Read the match programme here.

30 April 1932 - Everton won the First Division title for the fourth time after a 1-0 win over Bolton at Goodison.  Dixie Dean scored the only goal of the match, bringing his goal tally for the season to 44.  For the second time in his career he achived the title of top goal-scorer in the League.  Click here to see the match programme.

1 May 1982 - On this day Everton beat Swansea City 3-1 with Graeme Sharp scoring two goals, and Adrian Health, 1.  Sharp was signed from Dumbarton for a fee of £120,000 in April 1980 and became Everton's leading striker.  He was at the club from 1979-91 scoring some 159 goals.  Dixie Dean is the only player to have netted more goals for Everton.  Click here to view Graeme Sharp memorabilia.

2 May 1931 - Everton won the Second Division title despite losing 2-1 at Deepdale against Preston.  George Martin scored Everton's goal.  The Blues had already clinched the League title, and finished on 61 points, 7 ahead of second placed West Bromwich Albion.  Martin, like all the Everton players, Martin ran round the cinder track at the edge of the Goodison pitch as part of his training.  In the linked photograph Martin is on the right.  To see George Martin in training at Goodison click here.
