What happened in Everton's history this week?

7 June 1972
- David Lawson transferred from Huddersfield Town to Everton for £80,000. Lawson went on to make 150 appearances as Everton's goalkeeper before being transferred to Luton Town in 1978. See David Lawson memorabilia.

8 June 1972 - Keith Newton transferred to Burnley after just 58 first-team appearances! Once Newton had left Goodison he attacked the managerial style of Harry Catterick in the press. See Keith Newton memorabilia.

9 June 1965 - Harold Hardman dies in Sale, Cheshire. Hardman joined Everton from Blackpool in 1903 and spent five years at Goodison before leaving to join Manchester United. He spent his entire playing career as an amateur, winning the 1906 FA Cup with Everton. Click here to read a series of letters between Hardman and Will Cuff.
 
10 June 1950 - Duncan McKenzie born in Grimsby. After playing for Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Anderlecht, McKenzie signed for Everton for £200,000 in December 1976. He made 61 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals before being sold to Chelsea in September 1978. See Duncan McKenzie memorabilia.

10 June 1964 - Stuart McCall born in Leeds. McCall signed for Everton in 1988 from Bradford City. Making a total of 134 appearances, McCall became a solid midfielder and helped the Club to the 1989 FA Cup Final, scoring twice after coming on as a substitute. He left Goodison in August 1991 for Glasgow Rangers. See Stuart McCall memorabilia.

11 June 1971 - Joe Parkinson born in Eccles. Parkinson signed for Everton in 1994 from Bournemouth for £250,000. He went on to make 105 appearances including the 1995 FA Cup Final, before retiring in 1999. See Joe Parkinson memorabilia.

11 June 1979 - Everton sign John Bailey from Blackburn Rovers. However the two clubs could not agree a fee and so the matter was referred to an independent tribunal. See John Bailey's medals.

13 June 1950 - John Connolly born in Glasgow. After starring for St. Johnstone, Connolly was signed for Everton in March 1972. He remained at Goodison for 5 seasons, suffering 2 broken legs during his time in Liverpool. The appointment of Billy Bingham as Everton manager spelt the end of his Everton career and he joined Birmingham City in 1976.
